Data Services Day

Tuesday, September 15, 2009 - 8:30am - 5:00pm

The Research Technologies (RT) and Pervasive Technology Institute (PTI) Data Services Day is a one day event to share how IU’s Research Database (RDC) Complex and other RT database services can support the work of researchers.

RT offers a wide range of database services, from hosting of Oracle and MySQL databases, to short-or-long-term consulting on development of databases, web-front ends, data access methods, etc., to project management of larger efforts. The event is slated to feature presentations by Oracle personnel on data mining, in-database SQL statistical functions, text-mining, OLAP, security, and other Oracle and MySQL features. In addition, RT staff will discuss databases in general as applied to research, offer demonstrations on database products, and provide information on the services and support provided by RT for database hosting, development, and use. There will also be presentations from members of the IU research community regarding how their labs have used databases and associated products in their research.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided. (continental breakfast opens at 7:30 a.m.)

This event is free, but you must register to attend.

For additional information please send e-mail to researchtechnologies@iu.edu

Talks presented during the Data Services Day general sessions will be webcast from the workshop web pages. For more information or to register for the event, please visit:
